The Healing Arts Festivals

The Healing Arts Festivals were founded and produced in 1999 by Dr. Bobbie. The old adage, "find a need and fill it" guided her to develop a marketplace for complementary and alternative care. Coming from a longtime general medicine background, she felt that the allopathic community was slow to accept the compatibility of these industrious and well-meaning providers of mental, physical and spiritual practices. It has blossomed as the community eagerly accepted it. Many say Dr. Bobbie "unified" the practitioners and began a top quality, highly ethical standard of care. There were 70 booths and a dozen speakers in 2004 when Marcie Mortensson accepted ownership and expanded it even further. We say it's an example of throwing a pebble in a pond.
